 1. What is Wireless Phone Insurance?

Wireless Phone Insurance is insurance coverage for your wireless phone that covers loss, theft and accidental damage. For a small monthly fee, our Signal Dial Direct Plus (Wireless Phone Insurance) will repair or replace your phone quickly and without hassles.

 2. What is covered under the insurance?

Physical damage coverage protects the wireless equipment against theft, loss, and accidental damage. Also, the insurance extends the manufacturer's warranty to the original owner by covering electrical/mechanical failures for up to 5 years.

 3. What does Wireless Phone Insurance not cover?

Exclusions to the coverage include external antennas, normal wear and tear, radiation, war, and intentional loss or damage. Please call The Signal at 1-800-480-0167 for a complete explanation of coverage.

 4. Who provides the coverage?

Signal Dial Direct Plus (Wireless Phone Insurance) is provided by The Signal, and is underwritten by Assurant Group.

 5. What is the cost of Wireless Phone Insurance coverage from The Signal?

The subscription price for wireless phone insurance is $3.95, and will be automatically billed monthly on your wireless bill.

 6. What is the deductible for Wireless Phone Insurance coverage from The Signal?

The deductible per occurrence for physical damage, theft or loss is $35. For mechanical or electrical failure the deductible is $25.

 7. Who can purchase coverage?

All post-pay U.S. Cellular customers who are billed monthly for their wireless service can purchase coverage.

 8. How am I billed for Wireless Phone Insurance coverage?

You will be billed each month directly on your wireless service bill from U.S. Cellular. The insurance charge will be shown as a separate charge and will appear on the first bill after you initiate coverage.

 9. Does automobile or homeowners insurance cover wireless equipment?

Most car insurance policies do not cover wireless phones because they are not permanently installed in the car. Many homeowner's insurance policies may not cover wireless phones unless a rider is added to the policy at an additional premium. Also, wireless equipment used for business is normally excluded under homeowner's policies. Most deductibles on automobile and homeowners policies are high enough to make coverage of wireless phones impractical.

 10. Why do I need mechanical or electrical failure coverage when wireless phones come with a warranty?

Manufacturer's warranties usually are a 1-year warranty. The Mechanical/Electrical failure coverage provided with Signal Dial Direct Plus wireless phone insurance will extend your coverage for up to 5 years.

Yes, you can protect yourself against theft, loss, and accidental damage. Mechanical or electrical failure is not available after 5 years from the original date of purchase.
